You are a senior Amazon launch strategist who has launched hundreds of products. You've seen launches fail for predictable, preventable reasons — and you know that most launch mistakes aren't visible until they've already done their damage to rank and reviews. Your job here is to find those problems before launch, not after.

I'm going to give you a snapshot of where a product stands before launch. Evaluate readiness across the following dimensions and produce a launch readiness scorecard.

EVALUATION DIMENSIONS:

1. LISTING QUALITY
- Title: keyword-rich, benefit-led, within character limits, no prohibited terms
- Bullets: 5 bullets present, benefit-led (not feature-led), primary keywords included
- Description / A+: present and complete vs. missing
- Images: main image (white background, product fills frame), lifestyle, infographic, comparison chart — note which are present and which are missing
- Backend keywords: confirm whether provided and whether they duplicate front-end copy (duplication wastes space)

2. REVIEW STRATEGY
- Vine enrollment: planned or not
- Early reviewer program or external review strategy: present or absent
- A target review count before broad PPC scaling: defined or undefined
- Expected review velocity given the strategy described

3. PPC READINESS
- Launch campaign structure: auto + broad/phrase planned or not
- Starting daily budget: defined and appropriate for category or not
- Negative keyword list: prepared or starting blind
- ACoS target set based on margin or not
- Plan to transition from auto to manual based on search term data: present or absent

4. INVENTORY POSITION
- Units in FBA at launch: sufficient for expected velocity or not
- Reorder timeline vs. expected sell-through at launch velocity: safe or at risk
- IPI score / storage limits: flagged if relevant

5. PRICING STRATEGY
- Launch price vs. intended long-term price: defined or undefined
- Whether launch price is competitive with top 3 competitors at similar review counts
- Plan to raise price as reviews accumulate: present or absent

Output format:

LAUNCH READINESS SCORECARD

For each dimension, assign: READY / NEEDS WORK / CRITICAL GAP

Then produce:

CRITICAL GAPS (must fix before launch)
Bullet list. These are launch-blockers or near-certain rank killers.

NEEDS WORK (fix within first 2 weeks)
Bullet list. Won't kill the launch but will limit it.

LOOKING GOOD
Bullet list. What's genuinely ready.

LAUNCH GO / NO-GO RECOMMENDATION
A direct recommendation: launch now, launch after fixing X, or don't launch yet because Y. One paragraph.

BEFORE YOU EXECUTE:

1. If any required input is missing, unclear, or looks malformed, stop and ask me a specific clarifying question before proceeding. Do not guess or fill in plausible values.

2. If you are less than 95% confident you understand what I'm asking for, ask me to clarify before executing the task.

3. If the data I've provided contradicts itself, flag the contradiction and ask how to resolve it before continuing.

4. Do not soften critical gaps. If something is a launch-blocker, label it as one.

5. If a dimension lacks sufficient data to evaluate, mark it as DATA MISSING rather than guessing, and list it in your Caveats section.

6. After completing the scorecard, flag any evaluations that relied on assumptions under a "Caveats" section.

PASTE YOUR LAUNCH SNAPSHOT BELOW. Include everything you have: listing draft (title, bullets, description), image plan, review strategy, PPC plan, inventory units at FBA, reorder lead time, launch price, and competitor pricing context. The more complete the snapshot, the more accurate the readiness assessment.

What you'd paste after the divider

Backend keywords: Written, 249 bytes used

Review strategy:

Other: None planned
Target reviews before scaling PPC: 15

PPC plan:
Launch structure: Auto campaign only at start
Daily budget: $20
Negatives: None prepared
ACoS target: Not defined

Inventory:
Units at FBA: 200
Expected launch velocity: 5-8 units/day
Reorder lead time: 45 days

Intended long-term price: $22.99
Top 3 competitor prices at 100+ reviews: $19.99, $21.99, $17.49
01

The PPC readiness dimension is where most launches are weakest. Going live with an auto-only campaign and no ACoS target is how you burn $500 before you have data to act on.

02

If Vine is your only review strategy, plan for 4-6 weeks before you have enough reviews to scale. Build that lag into your PPC budget ramp.

03

Run this check 2 weeks before your target launch date, not the day before. Critical gaps need time to fix.

What does the Product Launch Readiness Check prompt do?
Before you push the button on a new product, run it through this structured readiness check. Evaluates listing completeness, review strategy, PPC plan, and inventory position — and tells you exactly what's missing before it costs you rank.
What data do I need to use this prompt?
An example of the exact input format is provided on this page under "Example Input." Generally you'll prepare your data in the structure shown, paste it after the prompt body, and the AI will return the analysis described above. If you're missing any inputs, the prompt will ask you what it needs.
How long does this take to set up?
Setup time for this prompt is 30-60 mins. That includes pulling your data, formatting it to match the example, and running the prompt. Once your data pipeline is set up the first time, subsequent runs take only a few minutes.
Which AI tool should I use this with?
This prompt is designed to work with any major large language model — ChatGPT (GPT-4 or newer), Claude (Sonnet 4 or newer), or Gemini. For structured analysis, math, and tabular outputs, Claude and GPT-4 class models produce the most reliable results.
Does this prompt work for Shopify or other platforms?
This prompt is built for Amazon sellers and references Amazon-specific data points such as referral fees, FBA fulfillment fees, and ASIN-level metrics. The underlying methodology can be adapted to other platforms by substituting equivalent inputs, but the prompt as written is Amazon-first.
What skill level is required to use this prompt?
This prompt is rated intermediate. Some familiarity with your platform's data exports and basic AI prompting is helpful for getting the most out of it. Most ecommerce operators can use it productively within a single session.
Is this prompt free to use?
Yes. Every prompt in the SMB Advantage Prompt Library is free for any small business operator to use. The only cost is whatever you pay for your AI tool subscription (ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro, etc.).
